Arendal Upper Secondary School has its roots back to 1805. The school is situated in the centre of a town, which for centuries, and still today, looks to foreign countries and people.
Our vision is to be a school that passes on knowledge and culture characterized by high professional quality in a safe and inspiring environment.
The school is a centre for basic education directed towards studies at universities and colleges in Norway and abroad. We offer the widest choice of subjects in this field in the county of Aust-Agder.The location in the centre of town offers proximity to the inhabitants, trade and industry.
In the school year 2009-2010 Arendal Upper Secondary has approximately 1000 students and 130 employees. In addition to the comprehensive academic program, the school offers the vocational program Service and Samferdsel (Service and Communication), the international program International Baccalaureate (IB), preparing for international universities, as well as adult education and theoretical studies for vocational apprentices.
The school also administers and arranges public examinations in the academic subjectsfor external candidates.
